Kim Cooper
Kim started singing professionally at 17, and then in 2009 had the privilege of being a part of Australian Idol, making the Top 12, placing 7th. This included singing live to a national TV audience weekly and being mentored by some of the best in the industry, including the Idol team, Michael Bublé, Suzi Quatro, Harry Connick Jr, Liza Minelli and John Foreman.
It was after this unique experience that Kim realised she loved helping people more than being on stage. Kim then went on to be trained as a vocal, performance and confidence coach at The Voice Singing School in Townsville. It was here that her love for teaching was ignited.
Kim has been trained specifically as a Contemporary Vocal Coach under the cutting-edge research of Griffith University's Vocal Pedagogy department. Initially this was through Tracey Osmond, owner of The Voice Singing School who completed her Masters there and would weekly pass her learnings onto her staff.
Having now completed her own Post Graduate Degree in Vocal pedagogy from Griffith University in 2022, Kim’s passion for evidence based vocal coaching techniques that result in a healthy, free flowing sound has only grown stronger. Kim has also widened her teaching skill set in 2023 by completing The Vocal Lab's "Vocal Educator Toolkit".
Alongside directing The Studio of Voice, Kim is also still a professional singer around the Geelong region, performing regularly at some of Geelong and the Surf Coasts most beloved venues and events, as well as at weddings and private parties.
It is Kim's unique blend of unique industry and performing experience, cutting edge vocal pedagogy training and incredible passion for helping people fall in love with singing that make her such a one of a kind vocal coach, and trainer of up and coming Studio of Voice teachers.
